Two phases construction on an occupied site

Gerontological hospital of 285 beds: reception, administration, bedrooms, kitchens, cafeteria, foyers, care facilities and follow-up care.

The project is divided in six households each containing three living units and a private protected garden. Three of the six wings are reserved for UHD and residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease. These households are grafted onto a central body in which the common functions are grouped. The singular meandering morphology of the central body is imposed by the necessity of phasing and the occupation of the land by the current nursing home, which is demolished as the construction progresses.

The spatial fragmentation in this project helps to preserve a domestic scale despite its huge accommodation capacity.
