Outstanding student housing for the University of Grenoble.

Very High Energy Performance (THPE) award

The new student residence on the University of Genoble's campus (Saint Martin d'Hères) organizes 400 rooms on two symmetrical buildings. This architecture provides the staging of housing units on a unifying base, partly occupied by the common services. The ground floor is thus are widely released and allow generous views of the beautiful park on campus between the stilts. There are garages for two-wheelers, a popular method of transportation for students.

Materials and colors contribute to the customization of units. Each one is separated from the next by a glass bridge that brings natural light to the heart of the buildings' circulations.

The design principles are simplified, so as to fit the operation in a very ambitious target cost, despite the project's situation in seismic and mountainous area.
